The Homestead Factory

Our furniture factory is a 45,000 square foot facility that is home to our craftsmen and finishing specialists. In this state-of-the-art facility, we house our Color Lab, where we’ve developed more than 2,000 colors, as well as our sanding and finishing rooms. Located across the road from the Homestead showroom, our furniture is built from start to finish in the factory.

A new appreciation for craftsmanship

During your guided tour, you’ll see our Amish craftsmen in action. You’ll learn how we build furniture at Homestead, and why each piece is ‘handcrafted and heartfelt.’ You’ll notice that each craftsman has his own pod where he works on one single piece of furniture from start to finish. One thing you won’t see in our factory are production lines — you’ll see a lot of individuals working on one piece at a time, and that’s how we make sure each piece is made right.

We invite visitors to take a tour of our facility during a trip to Homestead. Our guided tour gives a birds-eye view of how our furniture is built — from start to finish. Throughout the tour, you’re able to talk with our craftsmen and see how a furniture piece moves through every step in our build process. You’ll see furniture in its raw form, being sanded, stained, and finished, and ready to leave our warehouse.
